Weekend update August 3rd
Hard to believe it but August is here. The NFL preseason is here and so are the start of (our favorite) fall seasonal beers. So grab your PSL from Starbucks and dust off those puffy vests because September will be here before we know it….Don’t worry though, if you are not ready yet, there are still a few summer seasonal’s left too. (pro tip: stock up on these as they wont hang around long) Here is what arrived this week:
Our staff’s favorite pumpkin beer is King! This medium-light bodied imperial pumpkin ale from Southern Tier brings tasteful hints of vanilla, allspice, and cinnamon. 8.6% ABV this is literally pumpkin pie in a glass. Available in 4 pack bottles at both locations as well as by clicking on the picture.
Smooth, rich, luscious caramel intertwines with cinnamon, nutmeg, and pie crust notes to deliver a little slice of Pumking heaven oozing with confectionery delight. A sticky, delicious twist on an old favorite! 8.6% ABV
PUMPKIN PIE LACED WITH COFFEE AND DARK CHOCOLATE. SMOOTH, VELVETY MOUTHFEEL AND A FINISH SLIGHTLY SWEETER THAN PUMKING, WARLOCK IS A TREAT SO DELICIOUS IT MUST BE MAGIC!
Cisco Brewers: There once was a Pumple named Drumkin. His legend is certainly somethin’. From Nantucket he hails, and when autumn prevails, he brews ale with spice and some pumpkin. 6% ABV
Downeast Pumpkin: unfiltered blend of apples, pumpkin, and delicious chai spices. if fall were a drink, it’d be this.
Downeast Cider Donut: What could possibly taste more like fall in New England than a cider donut. Sweet and creamy with a fresh pressed cider backbone. You can skip apple picking this year and just drink one of these.
Staff Favorite in Style: AYINGER Oktober Fest-Märzen: Rich, amber-golden color. Deep, inviting, malty nose and bready, wonderful flavor that’s an ode to barley. Medium to big body, with a touch of warming alcohol on the finish. Soft dryness from long maturation 5.8%
A full rich bodied, hoppy, seasonal lager. Especially brewed for the Festbier season. This beer truly represents the Bavarian way of celebrating. Deep gold color, great mouth-feel and lots of flavor. Prost!, with a touch of warming alcohol on the finish. Soft dryness from long maturation
True North Scale Breaker Pumpkin Ale: Brewed with specialty malts for a rich, malt-forward sweetness, then dosed with pumpkin and spiced with cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, ginger, and clove. Sweet, savory, and aromatic with notes of pumpkin pie and warm baking spice.
2024 Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest: Our authentic Oktoberfest is a collaboration with Brauerei Gutmann, an iconic German brewer that’s been family-owned since 1707. This classic Festbier is smooth and balanced with biscuity malt flavor and a clean finish. Prost!
Von Trappe Oktoberfest: Our Oktoberfest is brewed with a blend of light and dark Munich malts, which not only add to its depth but deliver a residual sweetness. Caramel and toffee notes linger but are balanced by the subtle hop additions in this beer. We use Hallertau and Tettnanger hops which add a floral yet peppery aroma to this beer. It’s our take on this traditional Märzen beer.
Athlethic Brewing NON ALCOHOLIC Oktoberfest: People have different ideas about what marks the start of fall. For us, it’s that first sip of our Oktoberfest. With a crispness that matches the weather, all things fall seem to rush in with that first taste – tailgating, leaf peeping, trail hiking, pumpkin carving, flannel-ing, etc. So don’t delay your autumn any longer, grab a 6-pack (or two) and dive into fall.
Burlington Beer Company: Introducing Good Company, our Munich-style Festbier: a celebration of heritage and craftsmanship that embodies the spirit of camaraderie and good times. With a 5.5% ABV, this golden to copper-hued treasure is brewed to honor the rich history of German brewing traditions.
Our Festbier showcases a harmonious balance of malt and hops, giving it a smooth, full-bodied character with a touch of sweetness. The aroma entices with a delicate blend of toasted malt, caramel, and floral hops, evoking memories of festive gatherings and joyful camaraderie.
The taste unfolds with an inviting malt backbone, featuring notes of biscuit and honey, while the noble hops lend a subtle bitterness.
Crafted as a flavorful session beer, Bell’s Octoberfest Beer is perfect for a week-long wedding celebration in Germany or the start of the Michigan autumn. As with Bell’s Lager Beer, Octoberfest spends a full six weeks maturing in the fermentation vessels. Unlike its cousin, Octoberfest trades in the assertive hop presence for a focus on a light caramel malt note, lending body without too much sweetness. 5.5% ABV
